Wokit was established in 2009 by brothers Josh and Simon Marco. The two had a noodle vision: to capture the essence of the Far East in a box. Our menu allows you to mix and match your favourite ingredients to create a meal that's perfect for you.
Like you, we only want to eat great tasting food, that's why we only use high-quality ingredients guaranteed to be free from the MSG food additive and other nasty food preservatives. Our produce is delivered fresh each morning ensuring our food tastes naturally full of flavour. The intense heat from the wok, along with the minimal use of oil and short cooking times ensure the nutritional content of your food is not lost - leaving your mouth watering and your taste buds tingling.
We make all of our own sauces from authentic ingredients capturing the real flavour of the Orient. This gives each of our dishes a unique taste bursting with tantalizing flavours and aromas. As well as well known sauces such as Thai Green Curry, we also offer more unusual sauces such as Mongolian Garlic and Spring Onion and Malaysian Tamarind Fruit and Basil. We also have a range of drinks with Far Eastern flavours such as a white wine spritzer with pomegranate, chilled lemon green tea and a full selection of Chinese, Thai and Japanese beers. Our side dishes feature some well-loved classics such as homemade prawn crackers to fiery, yet moreish Wasabi nuts and lightly salted edamame (soya beans) .
As mentioned all our meals are served in a sustainable cardboard box (like the ones often seen in American films). The simple design is both self-insulating and re-sealable, keeping the food warm and fresh should you wish to eat at home. All our packaging, chopsticks, forks and bottles are recyclable, ensuring your whole Wokit experience is environmentally friendly.
The original Wokit opened in Liverpool's student area in Wavertree in June 2009. Since then, due to Josh's directional drive and the popularity of Simon's culinary expertise, we have seen the launch of a new partnership with the recently revamped Baa Bar on Myrtle Street in Liverpool City Centre. 2010 will continue be another busy year with further restaurant openings in the pipeline - watch this space!!
We hope to bring you a fresh, nutritious and quirky alternative to regular fast food by giving you a genuine touch of the Far East whether you eat in our restaurants, at home or both.
